What is this?

This is Cinny, a Matrix chat client running on my self-hosted homeserver at mat.lynnyc.net. Log in or create an account above to start chatting.

Matrix is a decentralized, open source chat protocol. There's no single company in control - anyone can run a homeservers, and thanks to federation, all homeservers work together seamlessly. Your account on mat.lynnyc.net can talk to users on matrix.org or any other server, just like email. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, and you own your data.

How to get started

• 1. Pick a client: The one above is Cinny - my personal preference. Other good options are Element and Commet.
• 2. Pick a homeserver: You can use matrix.org (the default), or sign up on my server at mat.lynnyc.net (you'll need a verification token - ask me on Discord @dotevaly or email eva@lynnyc.net).
• 3. Start chatting: Join rooms, DM people, explore. Rooms are like Discord channels; Spaces group them together like a Discord server.
